Facility Assessment
& Monitoring
Cleaner
Production Assessment is conducted at volunteer facilities
to identify waste sources, causes, and appropriate CP options.
These CP options are opportunities that will help the facility
reduce waste generation and at the same time, increase its
productivity.
CP assessment is an integral component of a CP program that
may eventually serve as the foundation for the establishment
of an environmental management system within a facility. It
is a procedure used to examine industries, production processes,
raw materials as well as products, in order to evaluate environmental
improvements that could be made, and estimate their costs.
However, the effectiveness of the process does not end with
this step.
The success of a CP program relies on the implementation
of generated CP options, monitoring of their environmental
performance, and continued reassessment and improvement of
their operations.
